Im going to do this a couple of times in 2011. The first person who emails me at audrey@alwphotography.com and writes "I wanna pick your brain!" will receive either a free workshop spot to the September 2011 or the October 2011 workshop, or...if you're unable to travel, two days of online mentoring!

Wow! Can you believe this year will come to a close in just a few days? Well, I can't...it went by much too fast, but I am sure that is what we all say!
I wanted to thank all the new clients that I had a chance to meet and work with this year. I look forward to watching your family grow in the coming years! A special thanks to all my repeat clients that I saw this year, and to those that I didn't get a chance to see this year..but they called, or sent emails to say hello... so a big THANK YOU! Thanks to the ladies that I had a chance to meet at workshops this year as well. I learn so much from each and every one of you.
This is my last post for 2010! Im am DEFINITELY looking forward to 2011. Lots of new things on the horizon, and the workshop in Australia..can't wait for that. I am pretty sure there are a few spots left, and they opened the workshop up to the general public.. so all my Oz blog readers, head over to www.rawinkprinting.com.au to inquire!
In Chicago, we have started to get snow quite early this year! We had our first "blizzard" last weekend. I had two appointments scheduled that day, and there was no rescheduling them. So I headed out to the Northshore right when Mother Nature decided that it was time for the snow to hit. This family lives right on the beach...so I know Chicago residents know the Northshore gets hit TWICE as hard as everyone else does. Well my client wanted to do them outside....and anyone that knows me...knows that I was GAME for blizzard shots. These are my regular clients..and they know when the conditions aren't perfect, I pre-plan in my head what I am going for...and when we finally step outside... we get the shot, and then head back inside!
So the key was shooting in between the 40-50 mile wind gusts of snow, yell loudly so that the kids can hear you, and get what you want within 5-8 min max. haha! (..so yes March 2011 workshop attendee's we WILL go outside if it is snowing!!! The results make it well worth it!!!) |

One of my favorite things I love about being a photographer in Chicago is... I don't have to travel abroad to get a change of seasons... the beach...or anything of the like. We have it all right here!
I get a lot of questions from photographers who ask me... "What do you do in the winter?" My response is always.. " I keep shooting!"
I have been photographing these boys since they were little. We've always done it in the summer, so it was fun to get outside and play in the snow.... |
