WPPI- 2009.. I survived, and had a blast!

Well Im back from WPPI, and I have to say... my feet, and calves hurt something awful!
I wanted to thank all of those who came out to my Platform presentation. I didn't expect such a large turnout for an evening program, so I was sad, and shocked when the fire marshell came to make all those who had to sit on the floor leave. I heard of a few exchanges that took place outside the room (and two managed to get back in!), and the folks at WPPI did ask me to do an encore program....but since I was already scheduled to speak at the tradeshow for the entire week.. I had to decline...so I am not sure if many knew that.
With that said.. Im pleased, it was great meeting so many different photographers from across the globe who came to see me! That was literally the best part. I was asked if I would do it again next year....and it is still up in the air. Im not one to lecture to anyone. Totally not my personality, or style and those who went to my Platform Program heard how important it is to me to stay true to myself, and my personality! I would much prefer to sit down with everyone in a circle.....and talk shop! Because it isn't about me.....talking about me...etc (which is why I don't like lectures!)...but rather about you...and how to be a better you.
Hmmm.. maybe I need to brainstorm with WPPI to come up with a new program style.....

This Grandpa from NY called me at the last minute and said he knew I was the photographer that he wanted to capture his only grand daughter...and wanted to know if I could do it while he and his wife were in town. I was MORE than happy to do it. They are a fabulous family...and I am so happy they all loved their pictures. I look forward to watching Lil "S" grow! |
| Two of my favorite little kids. I've watched them grow as well. (..which is one of my favorites things about my job!)...the last time I saw this little guy, he was about 8 days old! |
| ok... this little guy. (who was having a ball redecorating my chalkboard...)I've been photographing him since he was a little under 10 days. The last time I saw him.. I think he was a year? He is two now...and now has a new baby brother. He literally cracked me up the entire session... |

LAS VEGAS! WPPI Feb 16 - 19 - Out of the office

Hi all! I've been busy getting back into the grind of sessions, and preparing for WPPI '09! I've heard that this will be the biggest WPPI event yet. Im excited to hopefully meet everyone! We will be headed down to Vegas on Sunday. Im not staying at MGM Grand (I have a soft spot for Ceasers Palace...), but I will be there most of the day each day.
First.. I will be speaking a few times each day followed by a short Q&A at the Tradeshow at the PrintsMyWay booth...located at the Buckeye Color booth 1218.
I will be there on Monday 11:30, 1:00 & 2:30
Tuesday at 11:30, 1:00, & 3:00
Wednesday - 11:30 & 2:00
Also on Monday, I will have my Platform program geared towards beginner/Intermediate Photog's where I will talk about the things I look for...and why...when create images that look highly stylized.
Clients - I will be out all week, but we will have someone checking emails and phone calls each day.
For the Photographers... I hope to see you all in Vegas!
