Teen time!

March 31, 2010the blah blah blahness

About 2 weeks ago, I met the most adorable teen. I normally don't photograph teenagers...although I have always toyed with the idea. Her mom is as sweet as she could be so I had to meet them!

A couple of updates...

We will be closed from April 3 - April 11. All phone calls will be returned upon my return. If you are hoping for an appointment, I would suggest sending an email to audrey@alwphotography.com The next weekend date available is May 23rd. Because my newborn requests have been unusually high this year, if you are an expectant mom please call to get on the calender before your baby is born. I do not have any flexible time for newborns prior to July 12, 2010.

For photographers...

I have had quite a few request regarding upcoming workshops at my studio. At this time, I do not have any scheduled. Outside of the two I have scheduled at my loft this year, I am thinking of having one more in September. I am not in the position to commit to the dates just yet. This is simply due to the fact that clients typically book their fall appointments as the weather starts to warm up around April...early May. So I will announce one more date for 2010 sometime late April. I will send the dates to those who have emailed me previously, then I will post to the blog if there are spots still available. If you have contacted me already, you do not need to contact me again. I haven't forgotten you!!!

Until Next Time...

Im BACK!

March 23, 2010babies

Im back from WPPI, and I had a blast. I know I am a bit behind on blogging and I will be making that up this week. Since I returned from Vegas, I have been shooting, and busy redoing the studio. We have some new furniture arriving, and we put up many new canvas sets along with other new things. So when you come for your appointment, be sure to stop in the waiting room.

Back to WPPI... Although I was there much longer than usual ( a little over a week!), it is always great to meet new photographers, and catch up with some old photographer friends. My Platform speech was probably the best experience. What's funny is that I had no idea that many people were in the room. I was outside the doors because they wouldn't let us in to set up. So I decided to call in and check on my kids. Then my husband walked up to me and said..

Hubby: "umm.. that room is full. There has to be about 1000 ppl in there.."

Me: " naw...seriously?"

Hubby: " umm yeah..."

Me: " no...that line was for the guy before me.."

Hubby: "Um.. go look"

So I walk in and I was floored. I wasn't even expecting to fill half the room. Then WPPI came up to me frantically asking if I could speak at a 2nd timeslot. Crazy. Unfortunately that didn't work out because they didn't have an available room. I wish that would have been organized better. I also wish that they had the course level of each speaking slot on the site because the speakers program has to be placed in a certain category level ( beginner, intermediate, advanced) I chose beginner/intermediate, but unfortunately they don't list that info in the class the description.

Im not sure what my plans are for speaking next year. I am thinking of sitting 2010 out. If anything, I will do some quick speeches at some vendor booths. All in all, it was a breath of fresh air to meet so many people. It was truly, truly a humbling experience!

Being in true whirlwind form...as I sat in the airport waiting on my flight back to Chicago, my cellphone rang regarding a newborn who was born a bit earlier than scheduled...and they wanted to see if I could fit them in. So when I returned I met this little angel....

Until Next Time....

"E" has something to say....

March 23, 2010babies

I have been photographing this little 2yo since she was 6 months...and I adore her and her parents! She had some news to share with me...

She has a new baby brother! She said that...although it is hard to give up a bit of the "shine" during our sessions.... she would kindly step aside and toss some toys around the studio while I photograph her brother for a bit...

Until Next Time...
