MY NEW WEBSITE IS LIVE...LIVE...LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (...did I say live?)
Thanks to the guys over at ITDR www.intothedarkroom.com. I can't even put into words how completely smooth the process was...but let me try.
My previous website was about 3 yrs old. I stopped updating it because I was just sick of it. I wanted something different, and at this stage in the game, I wanted something that I didn't see on every other child photographers website...but most importantly, I wanted it to reflect ME.
Now, I am not very vocal when it comes to my branding. I know what I like, but its very hard to put it into words. Well Anthony and the rest of the guys at IDTR just picked up on what I wanted. Let me tell you...the customer service is OUT OF THIS WORLD.
So take a look... Now I know this is not what appears to be the "hot trend" out there....super huge images that take over your screen, etc. However, not only have I never liked that look, I like to go against the grain. So I know some might not like it and that is ok (many hated my blog too!), but if there is any message out there for someone to pick up on, I like it...and its important to really stay true to you. I haven't put music on it yet...but that will come soon.

One last thing..when I was in the design process, I was on ITDRwebsite, and they have an unbelievable deal going on right now....
Its called The Dream Package
- A Blog template
- A website template
- A free Slideshare Max slideshow
all for just $500! When I saw it, I asked them if I were reading it correctly! Since I began offering online galleries to my clients, I started using Slideshare Max. I haven't looked back since. I have found no other gallery out there with a clean, modern, presentation like the Slideshare Max.
The website template...although you can change colors..etc, its so clean, smooth, and modern. I looooovvvveee the all white, and how smooth the navigation is. Not to mention the search engine optimization capabilities, on a flash site will blow. your. mind. Nothing else out there like it, and I've worked with some of the top website designers out there.
Go to their website and check it out! I think it is only for a limited time....so I would jump on it! www.intothedarkroom.com
Until Next Time,

Learnfest 2009 Atlanta GA

April 16, 2009 workshops

|
*exhale*
Last week we wrapped up a successful, completely sold out Learnfest workshop that I taught along with 3 other fabulous photographers who are now my very good friends.... Lena Hyde, Tamara Lackey, and Laura Novak. After each day, the 4 of us would always comment on how GREAT this group of 60 women and men were! The Learnfest Workshop was held at the *breathtaking* (and that is no exaggeration!!) Chateau Elan. Im sure the other participants would agree with me... I missed my super plush hotel bed when I left! I didn't get a chance to use the spa facilities (teaching can wipe you out!), but I heard from the participants that they were top notch!
Words can't describe how incredibly happy I was to meet each and every one of you all that came. The extra treat was seeing some familiar faces that came to my personal Chicago workshops... Julie, Heather, Veronica, Rachel Capil, Vanessa....and dang it I know I am forgetting one other person!
When we returned, I found out from our admin that our waiting list for this past Learnfest is huge! We decided to do just one more this year...September 14 -17. Go to www.thelearnfest.com to add yourself to the waiting list. I believe registration will open to the waiting list first. This past Learnfest sold out in 4 hours!
Here are some images to share...

| I took this during one of the classes when we were able to gain access to a room to practice with very low light... |

| This as taken by Learnfest participant April Fletcher during our wine & cocktail party....with the BEST hors devours. ( Laura Novak was welcoming the group at that time...) |

| Lastly.... when we first arrived it as cold. (..well cold for Atlanta!) When we were outside, the southerners said it was snow that I was seeing. It sort of looked like it....but since I am from Chicago...I am going to have to say that wasn't real snow! haha! More like a fake snow. I kept looking up in the sky to see if Lena was playing a prank on me and was hiding in the tree's with a box of white confetti. |
