Look at this baby SITTING!

Let me give you a bit of background regarding this little guy I recently photographed. They don't live in Illinois. They don't even live drivable distance! I have a fair share of clients who live about a 4-6 hr plane ride away from the loft..and this little guy is one of them. Not only am I grateful for all of my out of state clients, but I am even MORE grateful to watch them grow.

When little "J's" mom contacted me.. I was out of the country. I always check my messages, and she really, really wanted to come down and have her son photographed. I was able to fit her in, and I am so glad it worked out. "J" is surrounded by a wonderful family.

"

Aside from meeting little ADVANCED "J" was this lovely email his mom sent me when she saw her images...

"OMG!!! All of the pictures of J are so BEAUTIFUL! It is impossible to choose them!"

"You did such a fantastic job Audrey. Thank you soooo much! The photo shoot was well worth my trip to Chicago."

Thanks, this is why I do what I do!

One of my favorite newborn shots is this one...

Well she is almost 2yrs old now!

I've photographed her a once before this session...but it was during the infamous Holiday Rush...so I didn't get a chance to blog the images.. but her big sister thinks she is a keeper...

Until Next Time...

One of my favorite little clients. The last time I photographed her was 2 yrs ago...so it was so much fun seeing her again!

I remember the "pre-studio" days when there was no choice on where to shoot. Meaning...if the client's home, or some other nearby place wasn't ideal.. I had to make it work. Now, I am lucky to choose between a location..or my loft.

Well Little 3yo "J" was a great kid to photograph when I returned. They live smack in the middle of Downtown Chicago....right along the main "artery" of the city. So no backyards, quiet streets, etc like you might find if you lived towards the Northside of Chicago. There are a few playground/parks Downtown...very few though!! Anyways.. after I captured a few in J's house, we decided to go outside to a park. Now.. I kid you not...there had to be at least...say 35 small kids there. (not counting parents/nannies) All running around..being...well kids. So I had to shoot around them...I had to go back to my "old school" way of thinking and imagining it was just me...and "J"...and the location was great..instead of thinking there were a boatload of kids there, and how much this *couldn't* work. I mean.. he is three..this was his first time meeting me....how could I possibly keep his attention on me..in a playground...with tons of little people around!? Well his parents (who are some of the sweetest people on earth!), let me go off and play with "J"...and I think we had fun. :-)

Until Next Time,

July 9, 2008babies

We just got back into the country (I was on vaction celebrating my wedding anniversary!), and came back refreshed...and ready for my sessions that started this past Sunday. (can't WAIT to post those!) I have some news to share...and will do that as soon as the contracts are signed, and back in my hands.

Until then.. I wanted to talk to my friend Lily. She is a regular client, and has helped out at a few workshops of mine. She came in right before I left for vacation for a session. I was in a bit of pain due to a backache, and my arm (... you know...getting on the kids level can take a toll on the body when you do it all the time! ha!)..well after her session was over, she gave me the SWEETEST gift and told me to feel better. ::sniff:: ::sniff::

Thanks again Lily!
